The moment
We are a luxury dog product brand based in Edinburgh with a passion for the handmade and a love of dogs. Our story began long before our founder, Mairi, threaded up her sewing machine. It began the moment Stella, a chubby and playful Olde English Bulldog puppy, became part of the family. Mairi quickly realised nothing seemed to fit Stella perfectly or even look comfortable. The products that were out there were lacking in style and quality. Of course, like you, she wanted the very best for her beloved dog, and feeling that no products really fit the bill, she used her background in textile design to start creating her own.
What makes Stocky & Dee
At Stocky & Dee, we often talk about how we are made up of ‘three pillars’, the first of which is the stylishness, uniqueness, and luxuriousness of our products; the second is our commitment to the handmade; and finally, our charity work and helping dogs in need.
Luxurious, Unique, Stylish
In the very early days, it was just Mairi and Stella. Stella was Mairi’s trusty companion, proving to be an excellent model for Mairi’s many early prototypes. Our aim is to create unique, made-to-order pieces which are as special to you as your dog is, an ethos which is integral to us as we continue to grow.
The Handmade Quality
We really appreciate the skill required by each of our makers to craft our beautiful products. We keep everything in-house and handmake individual products to order, right down to the fabric we use. This is not only better for the environment because it reduces waste, but also creates great opportunities for talented local textile designers. Finally, it means we can really get creative. Mairi, of course, has continued to experiment with colour combinations, and we are always developing new designs.
Dogs in need
Our love for dogs extends far beyond Stella. We support dogs who are less fortunate through our Rainbow Collection and pup-cycle scheme, an extension of our puppy pack offer, through which we encourage you to return your pre-loved or outgrown puppy Stocky & Dee collar to us. These collars are then up-cycled where necessary and shipped to a different dog shelter each month, which reduces waste and helps dogs in need.
